Robert Gibb & Sons was not only the mechanical contractor on this project but the general contractor as well. The primary goal of this ARRA funded project was to install energy savings devices on all the electrical lighting systems throughout the building and to upgrade the mechanical heating and cooling systems. At the same time we converted all the pneumatic valves in the building to electric and our controls contractor incorporated a new computer controlled environmental monitoring sys-tem for all the heating and cooling equipment. The replacement of 6 air handling units in the facility along with the replace-ment of the main boilers and addition of a new liquid chiller, installation of VAV coils and replacement of existing motors with new motors and VFD’s as well as the addition of solar panels will allow this building to become much more efficient. We not only improved the efficiency of the building but improved the quality of air at the same time
